Visiting Astronomers

The Northern Extended Millimeter Array (NOEMA) is a powerful but complex instrument. For this reason, and because observing a typical project requesting different array configurations is usually spread over several months, the actual observations are carried out by IRAM staff (the operator and the on-duty astronomer).

The Principal Investigator of a project will therefore not participate in the observations themselves, but will have to come to the IRAM headquarters in Grenoble for data calibration once the observations are finished.

Before arranging for yor visiting dates, please check the Visitor Schedule! Details on how to reach Grenoble and our reimbursement policies can be found by clicking the corresponding links at the left.
